"Optic fiber Systems" JSC took part in a strategic session on career guidance at the Ogarev Mordovia State University

On January 19, the strategic session "Vocational guidance of schoolchildren: new areas of work, problems and ways to solve them" was held at the Ogarev Mordovia StateUniversity. The directors of city schools, representatives of industrial enterprises and the university community took part in the event. The participants identified problem areas of career guidance and formed solutions for synchronizing career guidance work.

The session was attended by Mariya Russkikh, HR Head of "Optic fiber Systems" JSC (further OVS).

After the plenary meeting, the participants continued to work in project groups on the strategic session "Problems of improving the effectiveness of implementing career guidance activities with students: solutions and development prospects".

Mariya Russkikh shared her impressions: "The strategic session turned out to be as productive as possible. Within the framework of the project groups, work was carried out in four directions: schoolchildren, employers, universities, and parents. This allowed us to comprehensively study the issue of professional identification of the younger generation and develop effective approaches and tools for the implementation of career guidance activities."

An educational module was also included in the event, and participants of the strategic session received certificates of advanced training under the program "Process approach to career guidance management in educational organizations".

OVS is actively involved in the early career guidance process. For example, on the basis of the Institute of Science-based Technologies and New Materials (ISTNM) of the Ogarev Mordovia State University, in partnership with Optic fiber Systems JSC and the Ural Optical and Mechanical Plant, a photonics tournament is being held, within which students of grades 10-11 must solve the cases presented by the organizers. All participants of the tournament will receive additional points upon admission to the Ogarev Mordovia State University in the field of Photonics and Optoinformatics.

Also, the company regularly hosts career guidance excursions for schoolchildren within the framework of such programs as "Ticket to the Future", "Profnavigator" and others. As part of a specially designed excursion "Traveling at the speed of light: how optical fiber is made in Russia" students are told about the only fiber production in Russia, corporate culture, working conditions at the enterprise and career opportunities.

In close cooperation with the Ogarev Mordovia State University, OVS implements a program of targeted training. The contract on employer-sponsored education with "Optic Fiber Systems" JSC allows applicants not only to enter the university outside the general competition, but also the opportunity to complete an internship and a paid internship in the departments of the OVS, as well as to collect the necessary practice to prepare a graduate qualified job. After graduation, graduates are guaranteed to be employed in the company.
